An artist’s testimony, devotional work, and community vision needed more than a conventional online gallery.

Reviving the Soul was created for painter Ashley Beasley. The project presents her work as a space for healing, reflection, and purpose rather than only a digital catalog of paintings.

The story brings together Ashley’s personal transformation through painting and faith, three guiding values—Intentional Living, Community Stewardship, and Transformative Healing—and a forthcoming book, Reviving the Soul (vol. 1), pairing original artwork with devotionals. It also introduces a larger vision for a future physical gathering space with a gallery, community lounge, bakery, and support for local artisans.

The challenge

The site had to hold art, faith, a future book, and a community vision while preserving an easy blogging workflow.

A traditional gallery layout would have narrowed the project to images and product presentation. Reviving the Soul needed room for testimony, Scripture, values, reflection, and invitation without becoming a hard-selling commercial site.

The technical model also required balance. The main public experience would benefit from the speed and simplicity of a static Bootstrap and HTML build, but Ashley still needed a familiar publishing path for ongoing blog content. Removing WordPress entirely would have solved one problem by creating another.
